Sometimes, you may have second thoughts about your attorney and might want to replace him/her for some reason. Hence, you can change your lawyer in the middle of your car accident claim in Trinity. However, you must consider seeking help from a Trinity car accident lawyer so that you can have some consideration.

You should assess your reasons.

As mentioned earlier, changing your lawyer in the middle of your claim is a crucial decision. Therefore, the first and foremost thing you must do is assess the reasons behind your decision. Try to figure out the reasons. You find your lawyer incompetent; you have doubts about the result of your claim. You cannot communicate properly with your lawyer for any other reason.

Your case will be slowed down.

This is another consideration you should keep in mind: changing your lawyer in the middle will prolong your case. Since your new lawyer will not be adapted to your current situation, he/she will go through your case from the start by gathering information, reviewing your documentation, and trying to catch up with your current situation. It is like starting your with a new start, and this will consume a lot of your time.

  • Overall impact on your case

Suppose you have changed your attorney because you think that your attorney’s perspective on your case is not strong enough to win your claim. However, if your new attorney will also come to the same conclusion as the previous one or his/her new perspective is weaker than your previous attorney.

  • Fees Structure

While dealing with your ongoing case, you must make sure that if you are changing your current attorney to a new one, then it will have an impact on your financial condition. On second thoughts, what if your previous attorney worked for you on a contingency fee, but your new attorney is taking advantage of your situation and negotiating to charge you on an hourly basis? Therefore, consider discussing your decision with some professionals so that you may have an idea of the financial impact.

  • Communication with your attorney

If you have decided to change your current lawyer, it is essential to establish open communication with your attorney. Inform them about your decision and provide them with all the reasons that have led to your dissatisfaction regarding your case. Open communication with your current attorney can often resolve many issues. However, if the communication does not yield satisfactory results, then consider requesting all your documents and having a thorough paperwork process to facilitate the transition to your new attorney.

Encountering problems with your current attorney can lead to various complications; thus, it is crucial to seek guidance from a professional advisor and ensure that you finalize your decision thoughtfully.
